The collector of edges

He kept no diary.

Still the world showed up in layers:
roadmaps that sound like weather,
builders shipping from islands,
machines writing the loops
he was too tired to name,
charts of ruin and of dawn,
science as a cabinet of maybes.

By day he built clean systems.
By night he poked around other minds.

He learned a few things.

Attention is leverage.
A product is a bet on a stranger.
Models compound, but you still own the choice.
Markets punish faster than friends.
Under anger, often sadness.
Under the noise, someone scared of missing the edge.
Don’t split every difference.
Only the ones that keep you whole.

Futures, jokes, warnings.
All of it stacked up
like wood after a storm.

One day he stopped long enough
to count what he had.
It still wouldn’t hand him a title.

Only this:

He is the one who keeps looking.

So he shut the noise,
opened his hands,
picked one idea,

and tried to make it walk.

Gather widely.
Ship narrowly.
Keep the edge,
and the person under it.
